Google Calendar’s web client has received a fairly significant refresh, bringing the app more in line with Google Material Design 3. The update includes updated buttons, dialogs, sidebars, and custom-designed typography for a modern and accessible look. Users can now toggle between light mode and dark mode to reduce battery usage and eye strain. These changes apply to the entire calendar web experience, including the task list view. Google warns that the update may impact Chrome extensions, and advises users to contact developers if issues arise. The rollout of the redesign has begun, but may take up to 15 days to reach all users. This update is available to all Google Workspace customers and personal account holders. This is just the latest in a series of updates to Google Calendar, with recent releases including a WearOS app and the launch of Google Essentials, an all-in-one Windows app that bundles up the company’s entire suite of services, including Calendar.
